Omg I haven't cried so much in a movie since I watched Bridge to Teribithia. The movie was fantastic! I went to watch it tonight with Salinger after waiting and anticipating it for months.We were not disappointed we'll at least I wasn't. In fact I was kind of expecting it to be sadder than it actually was. I think it wasn't as sad because it had these glorious funny moments courtesy if the innkeeper and his wife, who took care of Cosette. now the real star of the show is Anne Hathaway' s portrayal of Fantine. Those scenes were the most heartbreaking, honest rendition of true loneliness in the face of despair. Ugh it's just so sad. The scale of this movie is also vastly impressive. The sets are fantastic and huge the backdropbackdrop of course is the French Revolution so no doubt there are long war scenes and the extras numerous, but Todd Hopper manages to make it all cohesive and worth the 2:40 of screen time. I swear this movie should have been split. people will come. but in the end it didn't disappoint. I predict that at the very least Anne Hathaway will get an Oscar nomination. The one thing I can honestly say that bugged me about it was the singing.Now don't get me wrong not all of it was bad but there weremwere moments were I wish they would just shut it and talk naturally but it rarely ever happened. If you do not like musicals watch it on mute and with subtitles. the faces and emotions are just so worth it. how can u not cry when you see Fantine in her first night as a prostitute. I had a dream should also win the Oscar for best song of the year! Oh and Isable Allen should get best supporting nod to because she made me cry as Ebony. the love interest of Markus. Honestly she has such a voice and her actions brought me to tears. Watch and u will know all I have said is truth.
